Vida terrestre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Two decades ago, it was hard to see how the Iberian Lynx would survive with fewer than 100 of them thought to still be alive. However, thanks to conservation efforts, captive breeding and habitat management, their numbers are soaring \u2026 and show no signs of slowing down.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hace dos d\u00e9cadas era dif\u00edcil de prever c\u00f3mo sobrevivir\u00eda el lince ib\u00e9rico con una poblaci\u00f3n de la que se pensaba que se pensaba que s\u00f3lo quedaban 100 ejemplares vivos. En el 2002, se pensaba que quedaban menos de 100 ejemplares en su h\u00e1bitat natural, de los cuales se pensaba que s\u00f3lo una cuarta parte de los mismos eran hembras en edad de reproducci\u00f3n, seg\u00fan un reportaje del New York Times. <br><br><strong>As a result of the species devastation, the LIFE+ Iberlince programme was founded with assistance from the European Union which has seen wild numbers in Spain and Portugal increase to estimate of over 900.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como resultado de la destrucci\u00f3n de la especie, se cre\u00f3 el programa \u00abVIDA + Lince ib\u00e9rico\u00bb con la ayuda de la Uni\u00f3n Europea. To better protect the lynx, we have to defend it at all costs. An even distribution across the centres gives us a greater guarantee that if something goes wrong in one facility, the impact for the species is minimised.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rodrigo Serra, director del centro de cr\u00eda en cautividad de Silves dijo: \u00abLa diversidad gen\u00e9tica es clave para la supervivencia de la especia.
