David Bowie, who was born on 8<\/span><\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> January 1947, was an English singer, songwriter, record producer, painter and actor. He has been a great icon in Pop music for over five decades. All his music is marked by the innovation, the visual presentation and the intellectual complexity. His music has had a really important impact in modern music.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"CENTER\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">During his lifetime, he sold 140 million records worldwide. He released about 26 studio albums, and he appeared in 22 films. In the United Kingdom, he was awarded 9 platinum, 11 gold and 8 silver albums, and in the United States, 5 platinum and 7 gold. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"CENTER\">\u201c<span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Space Oddity\u201d (1969) became his first Top Five on the UK Single Charts.
