I would like to share with you a small excerpt from the Balcony Scene from the play \u00abRomeo and Juliet\u00bb by William Shakespeare. This excerpt is written in modern English. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Me gustar\u00eda empezar el d\u00eda con AMOR. No hay nada como estar enamorado y, como dijo Max Ehrmann, \u00abEl amor es perenne como la hierba\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Me gustar\u00eda compartir con vosotros un peque\u00f1o fragmento de la escena del balc\u00f3n de la obra de teatro \u00abRomeo y Julieta\u00bb de William Shakespeare. Este fragmento est\u00e1 escrito en ingl\u00e9s moderno.<\/p>\n

Romeo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

She\u2019s speaking. Oh speak again, bright angel. After all, you look as glorious above me as an angel in heaven sailing through the lazy clouds would look to mortals gazing up in wonder.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Juliet<\/strong><\/h3>\n

O Romeo, Romeo! Why are you named Romeo? Disown your family and refuse your name. Or, if you will not, then swear that you love me and I\u2019ll stop being a Capulet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Romeo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[Aside]<\/em> Shall I wait for her to say more, or shall I answer her now?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Juliet<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s only your name which is my enemy. You are who you are, even if you weren\u2019t a Montague. What is a Montague? It\u2019s not a hand, nor a foot, nor an arm, nor a face, nor any other concrete part of the body. Oh, be some other name! What\u2019s in a name? A rose would smell just as sweet if we called it by any other name. Romeo, if he had a different name besides \u201cRomeo,\u201d would be just as perfect as he is with that name now. Romeo, take off your name, and in exchange for that superficial part of you, take all of me.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Romeo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I\u2019ll take you at your word. Just call me love, and I\u2019ll re-baptize myself with a different name. From now on I won\u2019t be Romeo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

De<\/span>igual modo Romeo, aunque Romeo no se llamara, conservar\u00eda sin este t\u00edtulo las raras<\/span>perfecciones que atesora. \u00a1Romeo, rechaza tu nombre; y a cambio de ese nombre, que<\/span>no forma parte de ti, t\u00f3mame a m\u00ed toda entera! <\/span><\/p>\n

R<\/span>o<\/span>m<\/span>e<\/span>o<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span>– Te tomo la palabra. Ll\u00e1mame s\u00f3lo \u00abamor m\u00edo\u00bb y ser\u00e9 nuevamente bautizado. <\/span>\u00a1Desde ahora mismo dejar\u00e9 de ser Romeo!<\/span><\/p>\n
