In 1787 he went to St John&#8217;s College, Cambridge, graduating from there in 1791. He then decided to spend a year in France, where he became a fervent supporter of the French Revolution. His precarious financial situation obliged him to return home in 1792. England&#8217;s declaration of war on France shocked and saddened him, and he became gradually disillusioned with the principles he had formerly supported with such enthusiasm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>William Wordsworth naci\u00f3 en Cockermouth en West Cumberland en la parte norte del Distrito de los Lagos en Inglaterra. They formulated an entirely new attitude to poets and poetry, expressed in Wordsworth&#8217;s Preface to 1800 edition, and also in Coleridge&#8217;s <em>Biographia Literaria<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En 1795 conoci\u00f3 a Coleridge y juntos produjeron las Baladas L\u00edricas en 1798. After 1810, Wordsworth became far less innovative and his creative life was marked by a greater degree of craftmanship than actual genius. His poetry, however was still heavily attacked by reviewers until 1820, after which his fame grew and flourished. In 1843 he was appointed Poet Laureate.
